The registration process for all the courses offered by IIT Dhanbad is different. Students need to apply on the official website of the relevant entrance test for MTech, BTech and MSc courses. Those looking to apply for the MBA and PhD programmes, must visit the official website of ISM (IIT) Dhanbad.

For IIT Dhanbad course admissions, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and clear the entrance exams accepted for the course candidate want to apply. The admissions are based on popular national-level entrance exams such as CAT, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, and IIT JAM for the respective courses. The eligible students can visit the official website of these entrance exams and can apply online.

You can get into the BTech courses offered by IIT (ISM) Dhanbad through JEE Mains. However, JEE Mains isn't enough. One must clear JEE Advanced to get into any of the IITs. The same applies to the IIT Dhanbad admissions as well. To summarise:

IIT Dhanbad BTech Admission = Clearing JEE Mains + JEE Advanced + Participating in JoSAA counselling for seat allotment.
