Minimum Eligibility Criteria for UG & PG Courses Candidates can secure admission in UG courses offered at Calcutta University if they have cleared their 10+2 level exam or an exam considered to be equivalent by the University. Additional Details Graduation Candidate must have completed B.Sc (Hons.) Degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Statistics/ Environmental Science/ Meteorology from a recognized University are eligible. Candidates are required to have Physics and Mathematics as general Subjects (If not as honors) at the undergraduate level and at least 60% marks in average with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry at (10+2) level are also eligible. To secure admission in PG courses, students should possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/college. Note: Aspirants are advised to thoroughly go through the eligibility criteria as mentioned by Calcutta University for the course in which they wish to secure admission. Admission Process Calcutta University offers admission to students on the basis of merit as well as entrance exam. Candidates are informed that for admission in majority of the courses offered at Calcutta University, 60% seats are available for admission to current Calcutta University students. For these students, admission is offered on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam. The remaining 40% seats are available for admission to Non-Calcutta University students as well as other Calcutta University students. Admission for these remaining 40% seats is offered on the basis of an entrance exam.
