How to apply for various courses at Lancaster University?

The Lancaster University admissions operate on a semester-wise system and it has two semesters which are September (Fall) and January (Spring) every year. Some programs also offer May intake for some programs, all of the semesters have different deadlines. As per some unofficial sources, Lancaster University enrolment do the year 2024 was 16,360 out of which 5,000 were international.

Lancaster University saw a steady rise in new student enrollments from 6,116 in 2022-23 to 6,421 in 2023-24. The biggest increases were in Undergraduate (UG) admissions, particularly in the Faculty of Science and Technology and Management School, reflecting a growing interest in these fields. Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programs also saw a significant boost, especially in business-related courses. The acceptance rate of Lancaster University stood at 19% for the most recent year, however it's increasing yearly based on the data in hand.

The application process at this University is done through UCAS which is available for the UG programs and apply through the university website.  The mode of application is completely online for Indian students.

The international students must  gather SOP, Official transcripts of academic credentials, English test scores, SAT, ACT, GMAT or GRE score, Bank support letter in case of a loan before you apply to the University.

Here are the steps to complete an online application process:

Step 1-Choose a program: International students have to choose a programme among various bachelor's, master's, diploma, and certificate programs and the eligibility criteria.

Step 2- Fill out the application form: Now go to the official website, and navigate through the UCAS portal to apply for the programme and fill out the required details like academic history, essay, English language score, and more.

Step 3-Pay application fee: Students must pay the application fee of GBP 22.50 (INR 2,536.23) (single course) by UCAS and GBP 28.5 (INR 3,212) (multiple choices) by UCAS for up to five courses.

Step 4-Wait for a response: The Lancaster University will review the application and within a few weeks they will provide an offer letter to join the program.

Step 5-Pay tuition fees: To get enrolled in the first semester, international students have to pay tuition fees depending on the course. The deposit is generally around 10% of the first year Lancaster University tuition fee.

Yes, international students are required to get a UK student visa for Lancaster University as it is situated in the UK. 

After getting the admission confirmation from the Lancaster University, the students must arrange all these documents with the VISA fee:

·         English language proficiency proof

·         Tuberculosis test results
