How to approach mechanical companies for a job as a fresher.

Hi. I was completed B.Tech in Mechanical engineering in 2015. Till then I was preparing for some competitive exams. I was confused on how to approach private companies related to production and design for a job. As a fresher It's been very difficult to get a job in such industries. Please help
