    Hello,
    You can join police services as an officer in the following ways. All these required graduations as eligibility. One is you go for a specific state's SI (sub-inspector) exam which a two-star officer and you will get promoted for inspector after 8-9 years depending on the cities. In a small city, it takes 7-8 years and in big cities, it takes 9-10 years. Second is you can go state PCS exam as well which will give you a chance to become class 1 officer (DSP), superior to an inspector. But, your promotion will not as fast as officer who cleared the UPSC IPS Exam will get. Third is that you can go for the IPS exam (UPSC civil service
