Hi, As you are interested in becoming a chef so in that case you may consider pursuing BHM (Bachelor degree in Hotel Management) after completing your class 12th. In order to pursue this course you need to be 12th pass from any stream with good academic record preferably 40%-50% in 12th with English as one of the subjects, plus you need to take entrance test conducted by various institutes. While pursuing this course you may opt for specialization in: - Front office. - Food and beverage services. - Food and beverages production (cooking and baking) - House keeping. As you are interested in becoming chef so you may opt for Food and beverages production (cooking and baking) as your specialization. Under this specialization you will learn about: - Various culinary skills. - Preparation of various cuisines food, etc. Professional chefs may find jobs in hotels, restaurants, air catering, food processing companies, catering in confectioneries, cruise liner, corporate catering, etc. Departmental catering services of defence and railway departments are also open to them. The pay scales may vary from place to place, a new entrant can earn about Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per month. After gaining 5-7 years of experience, one can easily earn up to Rs.50,000-60,000 per month.
