9 years agoExperts can explain the required qualifications for a librarian, with the rank of an Assistant Professor, but it all depends on the policy of the Government. If there are no grants for the Library, they can not survive. For a Librarian these days, there must be a good knowledge of computer and electronics. -
Hi Rohini,
Well most of the librarian jobs will ask you to have Bachelors of Library and Information Science course. As you have already copleted your bachelors I suggest you to do Masters in Library and Information Science (M.Li.Sc.)
Following universities in India offers M.Li.Sc :
Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU, New Delhi
Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra
SRM University, SRMU, Haryana
SNDT Women's University, Mumbai
Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar
Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
University of Delhi, New Delhi
Hope this helps. All the best.
