In order to become an Astronaut, you require a minimum of 1000 hours of flying experience as a Pilot and Post graduation degree in either Science or engineering. By the way, India has produced only two astronauts and they were Fighter Pilots of Indian Air Force. There were two more astronaut of Indian origin Americans and they are aeronautical engineers by qualifications.
