First of all, make a list of MBA or PGDM entrance exams you wish to prepare for. After making that list, check out the areas of exams like Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Reasoning, Logical reasoning and data interpretation then check your capabilities to solve the problems in these areas. Find out which area need specific preparations. If you seek for overall preparations then go for coaching centres which provide the complete package, otherwise, join a coaching centre for specific areas as mentioned above. Other factor is the time of coaching classes and batch schedule, so choose such coaching centre which offers batches as per your flexibility. Another factor is time, choose such a coaching centre which is near to your location as it would eventually lead to saving time and that time can be used for self-practice. Thus, use these factors for your decision making.

Yes, it is one of the toughest decision which a student has to take during his/her study time. First thing is faculty. There must be good faculty members no matter whether he or she is from a top college or not. You should know about their experience in the teaching field. I can say without a doubt that degrees don't matter when it comes to faculty. How interested and motivated the teacher is something that counts. Second is practice time. See on how much time coaching can give for practice and is there any doubt clearing cell or not. Past results: Well, past performance is no guarantee for the future. It is not even a useful way of assessing how good or bad a coaching institute is. It is just a reflection how good or bad their marketing has been and have they been able to attract good talented students in the past? Quantity of content: How many classes are there in the course? The content is of how many hours? Will there be 2 classes a week or 5 classes a week? This means that you just need to ask one question, does it cover the entire CAT syllabus?

Hello, Self Assessment is what you need to do before going for a coaching center for an MBA entrance exam. Go through the syllabus. Make a list of your weak areas. Areas where you need much practice. Or help. You can also solve previous year CAT paper to know that. Before enrolling yourself into any coaching center, go for some demo classes. In those demo classes, see how they teach. Does their technique of teaching on those topics where you face difficulty in solving helps ypu clear your doubt or not ? This way you will understand if spending months there would be fruitful for you or not. Way of teaching at institutes makes a difference for each student. Good Luck.
