How to cover up bad grades if I have excellent extracurricular? I am aiming to pursue BA from Bangalore.

I'm from Uttar Pradesh, from science stream and I am bound to give my boards this year. I had a horrible year in class eleventh (barely managed to scrape through with 43% marks). However, I have amazing extracurriculars - second in TYE, part of a committee in IIT-Kanpur (the youngest ever), etc.

You need to have some really solid reason to justify your bad grades. College admissions officers don't want to hear excuses unless the circumstances were absolutely out of your control. Mostly all the colleges take into consideration your academics and extracurricular. Some may grant you admission
