How to end up as a geological oceanographer through IIT or is there any other way to get there? Please mention the rank or score required.

Specialised branches of oceanography are chemical, geological, physical and marine biology. The most prestigious institutes conducting courses in this field are: IIT Madras, Mumbai Institute of Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Annamalai University and Karnataka Engineering College. Eligibility The basic criterion for applying to a Bachelor's degree in Geology is qualifying Class XII examination or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The duration of Bachelor's degree is three years and four if you apply for Honors. The basic criterion for applying to a Master's degree in Geology is passing the graduation degree with the required subject with a minimum of 50 percent marks. The duration for Master's degree is two years. In order to apply for a Ph.D in Geology, the candidate must score a minimum of 55 percent marks in their Master's degree. Moreover, if you want to go through the IITs you may have to appear for a qualifying examination. Cut-offs for the entrance exam will be declared after the exam is conducted successfully for its students, so it is better to wait until that time.
