Indira Gandhi National Open University admit candidates to its MA courses on a merit basis. The applications are shortlisted based on aggregate in the last qualifying exam, i.e., the bachelor's degree course. Thus, the aspirants who meet the course-specific eligibility criteria can proceed with the registration procedure. There is no entrance exam score requirement. After registration, the candidate's details are verified. Following this, aspirants can pay the required fee amount to confirm their seats.

Admission is granted on the basis of marks in the qualifying degree examination. University admission committee releases the merit list as per the candidates marks in UG degree. Shortlisted candidates have to report at the respective Regional or Study centre of the university with all the required documents.
