Candidates (General category) seeking admission to IIM-A for MBA must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate. For final selection, a student is required to have a valid score in the CAT exam (both sectional and overall) and is required to go through the AWT and PI rounds conducted by the institute. Additionally, for the final selection of candidates, everything right from their scores in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation are considered along with their CAT percentile, PI and WAT scores, stream in Class 12 and work experience.

  • Getting into IIM Ahmedabad's MBA (PGP) is a multi-step process:

    1. CAT scores: Candidates need to score exceptionally high (90+ percentile) on the Common Admission Test (CAT). This is the key hurdle.
    2. Meet Eligibility Criteria: Candidates need to have a Bachelor's degree with good marks and, for most candidates, 3+ years work experience.
    3. Shortlist & Interviews: Based on CAT scores and profile, IIM Ahmedabad shortlists candidates that go for a Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
    4. Selection: Final selection considers your entire profile - CAT, WAT, PI, academics, and work experience (if applicable).
  • Yes, you can get direct admission in MBA or other management programs at IIM Ahmedabad under management quota seats. The process involves visiting the official website, choosing a management course, checking for available management quota seats, filling out an online application form, providing detailed information and documents, and submitting the required fee. While direct admission is not applicable for a two-year PGP course at MICA Ahmedabad, there are alternative routes to secure admission in prestigious IIMs without solely relying on the CAT exam.
