To get admission in NIT Kurukshetra, you have to qualify JEE Mains exam.

Yes, For admission in NITs you have to score a good rank in JEE Main exam. You can check the category wise opening and closing ranks of last year for NITs, IIITs at https://josaa.nic.in/josaaorcrarchieve/Result/OpeningClosingRankArchieveN.aspx?Year=2017.
