To get admission to BTech course at Sengunthar College of Engineering, candidates need to meet the basic eligibility requirements of the programme as follows:
- Pass Class 12 from a recognised board
- Cut off mark = 200 (100 for Mathematics and 100 for Physics + Chemistry)
Moreover, based on past academic, candidates need to appear and participate in the TNEA Counselling process for the college and seat allotment.

Admission to BTech and BE courses is through Government and Management Quota. The college shortlisted candidates based on their merit in the last qualifying exam for Government Quota. For Management Quota, admission is based on entrance exam conducted by Association of Management or Anna University.
