For top IITs CSE branch, you will need under 1000 rank and for IIT BHU ECE branch you will need to score under 3000 rank.

You should aim for rank under 1000 to get CSE in any good IIT. Better the rank, better IIT, you will get. IITB might require even under 300, but he should be able to get KGP for around 800.

To get into the top 5 IITs with CSE branch, you must get a good rank. For that, you need to study. To get into IIT KGP or IIT BHU, you should have a rank under 5000 in JEE-Advanced. I hope this helps.
