How to get into the big data BI career field?

Business intelligence is definitely a field with huge potential and demand. Since you are quite young and not facing a career shift, you can afford to invest in a degree if you are serious about pursuing Data Analytics and BI. Of course, developing programming skills and familiarizing yourself with data mining, machine learning, etc. can be done independently but there are courses that will combine them to give you a comprehensive understanding of the analytics world. Hi Sawrabh, It all depends on your analytical and technical skills. Key requirement that I have observed with my colleagues and friends in Big Data is that they had a very strong Software Development experience and over a period of time they upgraded their knowledge by learning big data tools like Hadoop, Pentaho, MangoDBS, JasperSoft, etc. My suggestion to you would be to develop these skills: 1. Programming - (Hadoop, SQL, DB Languages, etc.) 2. Machine Learning. 3. Statistics. 4. Data Visualization. Below mentioned are the keys to develop these skills: 1. Engineering. 2. Additional courses over and above engineering in all of the above skill sets. 3. Internships (either free or paid) with institutions who are developing data analytics team.
