There are particular subjects for IAS .They may be related to your B.Tech course.You may choose accordingly. English and G.K are compulsory in Preliminary and Essay writing along with the other two in the Main exam.

select 1st subject as history and another one from your subject which are also in the list of IAS exams and begin preparation along with your exam too so that same subjects will help you in both and as long you learn it will be on mouth to you and easy to remind and write in both exams. another thin
