I agree kesasan, but Education is business in the whole world. US and UK are leading players. This may increase in coming future. Govt is planning to open gates to Foriegn Universities. Business will increase. Ball has been rolled out. Now the scenario can't be reversed. Yes, we can try to make this business more Ethical.

Most of them believing that those who are getting high marks are well much talented and those who getting average marks are weak student . Just reading what ever in the book and presenting in the paper helps to get good marks but it will not help to get knowledge about the particular area. This system want to change by teaching/ learning the concept of the subject.so that it will help the student to gain more information .Practical oriented way of learning helps to analyse more information than what we learned.

it is important that all deserving people should have acceess to qualitative institutions.there must at the same time be an innate desire at qualitative improvement.individuals should aim at quality and the institutions should live upto expectations.

To improve the quality of education in India, it is also important to improve the teaching quality, as it is the teachers who give knowledge and education to children, so even teachers also needs to be given time training so that they can improve and learn new methods or techniques of teaching. I would request Priya Pooja Kohli Shams33519 to share their valuable opinion.

    Govind_S VERY GOOD DISCUSSION!!!
    Aneeket aru.chopra Thanks tagging me!!!
As described by Govind its matter of concern having all resource why India is lacking in world rank,
Most important is not world ranking,
Narayana murthy, whom we know as an Indian industrialist and software engineer.
who has been honoured by "Distinguished Alumnus Award" by Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
    Said,
"IITs have lost their sheen and have turned into mere teaching institutes without paying attention to research,” said Murthy at IIT Gandhinagar"
I stressed in this statement because he is among the one who know the industrial needs and knows what e

Seeing the quality of education in India, I would suggest the following
    1. Faculty - Only Phd faculties should be there and those institutes must be accredited. It shouldnt be like a BTech degree holder teaching in a B School. Also faculties must be bound to submit a fixed number of research papers every year with students involved in it. This way students will get to learn more from and with the faculty
    2. Improve infrastructure and resources like journals, books etc in library alongwith online accesses.
    3. Curriculum must have a minimum of 2 months internship+ 1 month of NGO/Social work involvement.
    4. Teaching should be a mix of theory

Quality of Education is certainly a cause of concern in India. Government has itself levied service tax on job oriented programs in vocational segments, thereby indicating that Education has become a business. There are very few problem for classes, who are able to get admission in top notch institutions in various domains- like IIT, IIM, NID, NIFT, FTI etc. These Institutes are acclaimed for their quality education, but could not figure in such University Lists, as none of them are having University Status. Problem is certainly in education for masses. Majority Universities are having curriculam's which are outdated, Issues with facu

Well a very nice discussion started and good no. of points shared by the experts! Few factors that can help improve quality of education in India can be:
Providing more facilities to the students in terms of infrastructure and financial aid/scholarships to students so that they don't think of going to any other country to do their research.
Providing more no. of research oriented courses.
Providing proper mentors to the researchers.
    etc.

    The Quality of education in India can be improved by enhancing the following of the TEACHERS;
Knowledge, Attitude, Liking for their job and motivation that they are one of the main pillars of the country.
And if they reach a certain Quality standard then the Teachers need to be adequately benefited well both in monetary terms as well in Respect & Recognition.

Well a nice discussion initiated and also a good no. of valuable points shared by the experts! I too feel that Indian universities are very well reputed but not making it to the top 200 universities of the world is a actually a matter of concern. If we look at the ground reality then we do have good management and engineering institutes and no doubt the students passing out from them are not doing wonders. But again what is our main concern is why Indian universities/Institutes are not able to make it to the list of top universities even though students passing from the premiere Indian Universities or B-schools are getting a very high

While Ranking the universities One of the most Important factor these ranking agency Considers is Number of Awards to the Universities and Papers Published in International Journals . This is where the Indian Universities Lack . Teaching alone cant Only be the Criteria for a good ranking of an university .

good. surya has logic to defend everybody and to prove his statement is always correct. even if his answer is self contradictory. good.
finally, I am and most other people sticking to the points . it is money mindedness of people only. and about research, I do not think a corporate employee cannot do that. Forget about the Ph.D degree, we are not able to fetch noble awards even the IIM, ISB learned people are not able to produce a single business module which would have been innovative and would have changed world at large.
I request all member to stick to the main topic- How we can improve rather than diverting attention. If anybody wan

    6. US and UK economy have gone Topsy turfy. Almost all "so-great-ranked institutes" students were in i-banking jobs. And the whole of wall street has been brought down. All i-banks throwing away i-banking divisions which led to this great financial crisis. Think of India - Almost safe from all such things. What can we decipher? Indians are better managers. and who are creating these better managers? India institutes. RBIs policies have kept India safe and sound. Who is the governor? Mr Subbrao from IIM Calcutta. So why are IIMs ranked below.
Though I know that there are certain flaws in Indian education system, but it is by far the best
