    Hello
First of all, you need to know the IIT JAM SYLLABUS & exam pattern. As early as you know syllabus and exams pattern, you can start preparing a few months before exams. You don't need to cover the whole syllabus. But whatever she is good at, you should study those things very well and clear all the doubts and concepts of that topic. As far as my concern I had studied everything except electronics and statistical mechanics ( because in my personal opinion I found it boring). I had studied only some of the specific topics of electronics. You should try more and more questions. You can solve at least the previous 5 years question pape

In my opinion, just keep your concepts and moreover you have other options too like GS that is the entrance exam of TIFR and JEST to get integrated Ph.D course in many other institutes. Also, you can apply for foreign institutes if you've good grades along with some research skills like in mostly institutes of Germany there is no tuition fee for Masters in Physics so you can apply there, it is not necessary to give GRE for all some them can also accept you on the basis of CV and resume. You've to get a list of all available options and set it on priority orders and then work hard and smart.

This contains preparation for Mathematics stream. For other streams, it is kind of similar. Make a rough plan to cover up all the chapter (All the chapters should be covered), stick to it. Take a standard book which is not very tuff or not very easy. Buy IIT JAM M.Sc. (Mathematics) Previous Papers and Practice Test Papers (Solved) Book Online at Low Prices in India.
Buy Mathematics - A Complete Guide: M.Sc. Entrance Examination Book Online at Low Prices in India
These two books in particular will definitely help. There are two prospective of it as we can intuitively say from the previous year paper. One is applied and other one is pure.
