How to prepare for AFCAT English section?

To prepare for AFCAT English Language, candidates must have a strong command of grammar and vocabulary. To improve vocabulary, read the editorial section of the newspaper. Questions in English are asked from Antonyms and Synonyms, English Grammar, Idioms and phrases and comprehension. Read Newspaper and Books Reading newspapers and books will help candidates to understand new vocabulary and sentence structure. This also helps in brushing up Current Affairs. Candidates should also watch international news channels to build their English language skills. Reading Comprehension Reading Comprehension forms an integral part of English Language section. Maximum number of questions are asked from this section. Candidates can score well by practicing three reading comprehension passages from previous years' question papers or sample papers. Grammar Revision It is also important to do some grammar revision. Topics like Antonyms and Synonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Tenses and Basic Grammar requires knowledge of grammar. Try to solve at least 30 grammar questions daily. Vocabulary Building Candidates must spend some time going through new words and looking for their meaning in the dictionary. Candidates must work towards improving their vocabulary skills.
