How to prepare for civil services?
Till now I have joint a coaching and I m reading NCERT books from std 6 - 12. Am i right or not.

Preparing for UPSC requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
*Get the right books for Prelims
*Start preparing at least 10 months before
*Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
*Cover the scoring sections ea

For a basic study, it is appropriate. But, in course of time, you will rise further and opt for books which are of higher quality.Fundamentally, it is good to go for all kinds of reading, without stopping at something.Knowledge actually should come from all directions

The beggining is okay. Now you need to soon focus on enhancing your knowledge on current affairs. You also need to move over to books of higher classes. Try to discuss with oyur fellow students at the coaching centre. Take part in mock exams and keep evaluating yourself.
