How to prepare for CPT exam?

Hi Nikhil, in CPT we have 4 papers Fundamentals of Accounting Mercantile Law General Economics Quantiative Aptitude- which comprise of Mathematics and Statistics You should try a good coaching center for CPT preparations as they plays a very important role in determining our result. Solve the 2 modules that ICAI provides. Try solving all the questions in our material. Buy a CPT scanner and solve it. The more you practice the more is your chance of achieving CPT. Your hardwork and luck will determine your result. Try to get in the December attempt itself because lot of changes are to be introduced in CPT in 2016. So because of this the pass rate may sometime increase. All the Best. Hope this helped you

Hi Nikhil, CPT exam or the Common Profiency Test is an entry level examination for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course. A 10th Passed student can register for CPT Course by filling in the prescribed registration form along with the requisite fee. A student who has passed higher qualifications than 10th class such as Higher secondary, B.Com, M.Com, LL.B., ICWA, CS, MBA is also, in the first instance, to appear and pass CPT Examination to join the Chartered Accountancy Course. You may definitely pursue the same. The CPT is a test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. The Board of Studies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants provides a comprehensive study package including large question bank. The Board of Studies also provides a CD for self-assessment with question paper sets of different subjects to test one’s level of preparation. There are many institutions which offer training to students for appearing for the CPT exams. Since you have not mentioned which part of the country you are from, we will not be able to help you with the names of the institutes. However a small google search will help you pull out a lot of information on these. You may also prepare yourself with old and model question papers or test model papers available on net or otherwise in good book stores.
