    Hi Bharat!
Here are some of the key-points that you should remember and follow for your GATE preparation:
    1. Strictly adhere to the syllabus and make your plans likewise for the subject you start. Some times we unnecessarily waste time studying things that are of no use.
    2. Avoid reading multiple books and authors. Stick to one so that you don't end up being confused.
    3. Concept building is very much essential for clearing GATE as there is always concept repetition in GATE rather than exact question repetition. Do not delve deep into theory and practice Numericals well, that too in a set of at least 25 questions rather than solving each

Being one of the most important engineering exams, GATE witnesses a number of candidates every year. You should study with a strategy and focus on clearing your basics. Ones who are highly motivated and have a clear vision of their goal can be able to score well in this exam. Start off with analyzing the GATE syllabus. Then divide and try to break the syllabus into sub-categories and do the same with each subject further. Time is like money, so spend it intelligently. The best time to start your GATE preparation is today, right after going through my answer. Just pick one of the subjects you feel good at and start the preparation. Afte

GATE is all about hard work and self-confidence, your rank is directly propositional to how much hard work you have done. Take all the classes in coaching regularly. Always prepare your own notes whenever you are reading any new concept for the first time. Do not leave any portion, even if it not asked for last 10 years, nobody can predict what will be going to asked in the exam and leaving small -small thing can cost you IIT to NIT. Practice previous year GATE question at least 2 to 3 times. Do not read anything new one week before the exam, just revise your short notes, relax your self and take proper sleep for 8 hours.
