How to prepare for GATE exam? Can I take a year gap for the preparation? Will it affect my career?
I am pursuing B.E Mechanical engineering (IV year).

The private companies consider GAP adversely between schooling and college and during the degree. However, after the graduation has been completed, there is no issue of GAP. Preparing for the GATE from IV sem onward is not a good idea as firstly, it will affect your semester marks and secondly, the syllabus of GATE is up to sixth sem. However, if you prepare proper notes of all subjects during 4th, 5th and 6th sem, they will be useful for GATE preparation.
Now there is no question of learning new topics but you must learn CAD/CAM software like Auto CAD 2D & 3D, PRO-E, Unigraphics, CATIA and Ansys progressively in coming one year. These...more -
