Hi,
Please note that each IIM shortlists candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other.
The process may include:
1. Written Ability Test (WAT)
2. Group Discussions (GD)
3. Personal Interviews (PI).
Performance in CAT examination is an important component in the admission process.
IIMs may use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process.
The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.

Hi,
Find below some tips regarding preparation of Group discussion:
Please remember in most of the B-schools GDs are held on current topics related to sports, economics, business etc, so you need to be aware of all the latest current affairs, for this you should read news papers and magazines.
GD is a team activity, so while participating you should express your views very clearly at the same time you also should give chance to others members in team to speak.
It is always advisable to take initiative and speak first if you know about the topic, but if you are not aware of the topic you should listen to others first and then speak.
