    To prepare for UPSC, you must understand eligibility and the pattern of the exam.
    Eligibility -
    IAS, IPS, and IFS candidates must be Indian citizens with a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
    Age and attempts:
    General/EWS: Between 21 and 32, 6 attempts. OBC: 21 to 35 years, 9 attempts (non-creamy layer).
    SC/ST: 21 to 37 years, unlimited attempts. Structure:
    PRELIM (objective type): Qualifying stage with two papers conducted on the same day in two slots. Also, papers have one-third negative marking.
    General Studies I
    Marks: 200; questions: 100.
    General Studies II (CSAT)
    Marks: 200, Questions: 80
