Try the passenger train instead.. it would be faster and easier means of transport.
1) Take a train to Guindy from Chennai Central Railway Station
2) Get out of the Guindy station, cross the road & u can take any bus going to Adyar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur. It is just 3 stops from Guindy in this
