But one question? Why are we exempting Medical entrance from this? While discussing the scope should also include the preparation for exams like AIIMS, JIPMER and many other National and state level exams. I'd request all to think about the students appearing for the medical entrance too. If a student who is confident of getting good rank skips or takes a drop for an year then he may loose one year which doesn't matter but in case of Medicine it is too big decision. Plz think through.

Since the taget group for IIT/JEE etc are different from that of CAT, GATE,GRE, UPSE,NET their could be separate discussion if need be. This is because, the students aspiring for these exams would cross the first three major mile stones by the time they come to this stage and would have some experience. They too need guidance and some of the parameters could be the same but the orientation and the focus, the style of preparation might be different for the other exams.

yes dear, but let us be particular about EXAMS PERTAINING TO 10+2 STANDARD LEVEL, SO THAT parents can get benefit through a sinle discussion.
secondly- studetns aspiring for CAT, gate , gre are quite matured and students themselves are at age to take decision.
At 10+2 level, parents and students both are confused , at this stage one has to be very careful. It would be better a seperate discussion is started for coaching classes for PG level.

The issues are not with only IIT JEE Coaching, the issues are even with other coaching classes like GATE, GRE, GMAT, CET, CDS, IAS etc etc.

I do agree all the branded institutes do not conduct entrance exam-DO YOU KNOW THE REASON BEHIND THAT- The very reason is that for branded insttitute --SOME OF THE STUDENTS FRO THEM ARE RANKERS AND REMAINING ARE BANKERS" So institutes tries to give admission to everybody but thorugh thier internal selection process they come to know , who are the rankers- so they apply good faculties power to Rankers.

No coaching institute can make a duffer student capable, secondly till xth we measure studenst ability by marks which he scores but that is not the criteria of success in competitive exams like IIT JEE or AIEEE.
all the branded coaching institute takes aptitude exams before giving them admissions-- rather I will say fro deciding the batch for preparation, they noramlly dont stress on ur academic results.
WELL -seems we are getting away from the key topic.

When we buy ISI brand products, we expect a minimum quality level. Similarly can't we have any certification agency by Govt or NGO or someother organization like Shiksha. How is the Idea ?

The best method to find out which coaching institute really gives quality and which one is hollow is to ask a student of there who has taken coaching in any location for at least two years. His/her advise would be more practical and accurate than others.

    like
    1.Undesirable/Unpredictable subject failure,
2.Abilities in sports or other activities cause barrier in high marks,
    3. Suffered from illness during/begining of examination(Exceptional),
    4. Could be a victim of psychological disorders(Exceptional).
In all the above case the conclusion is just less marks/failure in high marks/Less marks to select in any course of good college cutoff.
The option is directly related to the parents, faculties of last college & community. They should not to cricise the students like that.

in continuation---if it is case of shifting from IIT jee preparation to Aieee-it would be accepted in some of the case, but in most of the institute the students get shifted to lower batch means compromising with standards of teachers too.
I would like to stress upon parents perspective.----------most of the parents think that thier ward is one of the best , but when he reaches place like kota, where most of the sstudents are 9.5 + graders, he finds bit difficult to compete with other studenst, due to continous assessment and its deterioting results from the institutes internal exams-student comes under depression and in result sometime

continuation of the above discussion as i accidentally pressed submit.
As discussed, many institutions which produce top rankers have grades. The students who are admitted are admitted into A/B/C depending upon their 10th marks. 90+students in A, 80+in B n70+in C. After joining, there is periodic assessment and the students have the facility to move up the grade which is a positive move while those who are in grade A by virtue of marks and without knowledge slide down the grades. The minute there is a slide in grade the periodically, the kid is shifted to AIEEE from IIT section, which will not be appreciated by parents. Since there is

thanks to all for good participation. 1--I feel that nobody has thought from the parents point of view.
2---as most of the students go out to the other city for studies for preparation like kota-- so this angle needs to be discussed.
3---students gets attached to to the brand name , therefore naturally good students are likely to get adhered to the branded one, so automatically results comes.
4---every institute declared the number of selection but not the number of students who attempted from that institute, I mean to say they dont declare the percentage of selection.
5---from parents point of view I would like to highlight that which cit

Student must visit to all the options available in the city check all the facilities suggested by Gomti and then decide in which institute he/she must have to take the demo class. Don't take demo to every coaching otherwise they will not make u live easily by keep on calling.

Well can anyone be judgmental while selecting an institute because mostly all the coaching institutes boast about themselves thus creating dilemma in the minds of students and their parents.

Well as per me, the student should first go for a trial class or if possible go through the track record of the coaching institute and also should try and interact with the faculty.
