How to study NCERT books in an easy way to get a grasp on all the topics?

Hi,
I am currently studying in class 11. Last year, I followed NCERT only for its explanation part and jotted down the main points from the book in a fair copy for each subject. Studying NCERT in this form helped me a lot in scoring in the board exam.
