How was Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences established?

<p>Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Germany. Our students learn together in small groups. The university, previously named as <strong>'Fachhochschule Darmstadt'</strong>, was founded in 1971 from several precursor institutions. The roots of the present day departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering stretch as fas as back as the middle of the 19th century, to the <strong>'Landesbaugewerkschule Darmstadt'</strong>. In 2006, the university was renamed <strong>Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences</strong>, or <strong>h_da </strong>for short.&nbsp;</p>
