html5 has it's advantages since high end sites never get made in wordpress joomla, only low end sites with low budgets are made in wp/ joomla. so for the rest appearing on mobile sets without html5 would be a pain.

In most php websites CMS's (wordpress,joomla) are taking over. So will it be waste of time learning html5 &css3(bcoz we don't hav to design)

I agree that html5 is an exciting development. It does hold a lot of potential. On the other hand predicting the course of future could be difficult as of now. Especially when it comes to devices, flash has had issues so one does hope that html would be useful, unless flash finds some solutions. How
