Yes, you absolutely can apply for the GPAT exam at 32 years old! There is no upper age limit for applying for the GPAT exam [reference for GPAT eligibility]. This means that you can take the exam regardless of your age. The eligibility criteria for GPAT focus on educational qualifications rather than age. As long as you meet the other requirements, such as holding a B.Pharm degree, you can apply.

Yes, there is no age restriction, therefore, you can apply for the GPAT 2024 exam. Candidates who wish to pursue MPharma and are Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the exam. As age is no bar so a candidate of any age is eligible to apply for the exam. However, the admission criteria may vary for each institute offering MPharma course. Therefore, candidates need to check the admission criteria of the preffered institute before seeking admission.

No, GPAT scores are not compulsory to get admission into the MPharm course at Poona College of Pharmacy. Because the college also accepts relevant BV-PHARMPG scores. Therefore, candidates with scores in any of the entrance exams from these two can get admission into the MPharm course. Thus, GPAT is one of the accepted entrance exams for admission to the MPharm course. However, it is not compulsory.

The approximate subject-wise weightage in GPAT is as follows:

  • Pharmacology – 25–30 questions

  • Pharmaceutics – 20–25 questions

  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 15–20 questions

  • Pharmacognosy – 10–15 questions

Other subjects (Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) – 10–15 questions
This distribution may vary slightly year to year, but the core subjects consistently have the highest weightage.
