I am a 3rd year ece student.I am interested in pursuing M.Des rather than M.S but need to know about the scope of M.Des for an ece student.

I am studying in College of Engineering ,Guindy ,Chennai and i am having a cgpa of 8.2 .

Since you don't have any priliminary knowledge on designing,you should do a short/part time/diploma course on it and then you can apply for M.Des

if u are doing ECE then dont go for M.design.M.design is suitable for mechanical.do ME or get job through campus placement.
