I am a B.E. computer science graduate with PGDEA from SCDL as I wanted to move to education sector. Do I still need BEd for teaching?

I've been working in schools for the past 3-4 years but still they insist on a BEd degree without which they say I am not eligible for a pay scale. Can you help?
