If you want to go for PGDM one of the entrance test is a must. You can apply for either of these CMAT/MAT/CAT/ATMA/XAT.
With focused studies, you can get good scores in these and hence can get admission in a good B-School.

Hello Ajay! I advise you not to restrict yourself to just these two exams, as there are other important exams too like XAT, CMAT, SNAP, NMAT, CET, etc which you can give. And with belief and sincere hard work, even a below-average student can clear these exams and obtain a great score.
Anyways coming to your question, if you wish to get admission into the best and top-ranked B-schools in the country then it becomes imperative to give CAT. The reason is, unlike MAT, almost all of the top B-schools accept scores of the CAT exam for their respective admission procedures. So my suggestion is appear for both CAT and MAT but be more focused

MBA entrance examinations are competitive. You are advised to appear in CAT, XAT, MAT, NMAT, SNAP and MAT to maximize your chances to get admission in a good MBA/PGDM college.
