I am a Biotechnology graduate. My only concern is will this cause any hindrance in obtaining placements?

Hey Prathima! As I have answered this before the background really doesn't matter much! The only thing would be the ones having an experience will be having a little edge over you! but it all boils down to the interview where you have to prove your metal that's it. Feel free to post more!
