I am a Diploma holder (mechanical) and want to know if I can do a graduation in automobile engineering?

I've scored 68% in my Diploma which I did after my matric (9.4 CGPA).

    Yes, you can take admission in B.Tech in automobile engineering through lateral entry mode in Lovely Professional University in second year. But, you have to pass entrance exam for that.

    Yes, you can do B.Tech in Automobile Engineering through lateral entry mode. LPU and Chandigarh Universities are one of them offering lateral UG programme in Automobile engineering through the entrance test.
