I am a final year B.Tech mechanical engineering student with an aggregate of 77%. Should I go for NDT course or pursue a piping course?

Let me answer your question on the basis of two parameters- Career Scope- No doubt, Piping engineering has more career scope compared to HVAC, since there are vast modules involved that too with different areas to choose I. e from Layout, Stress & Materials. Competitiveness in Industry- Here, unfortunately, chances are less that you may get a job as a fresher since MNC companies like Jacobs, Petrofac and others hire only experienced candidates (unless you are campus placed), so it may become very difficult to get a break in the industry. However, getting a fresher job in the HVAC industry is not that difficult when compared to Piping, but again refer point 1 P. S- I was a NDT Inspector having done ASNT Level III in UT & MT and I won't advise you to work in the same. I have moved on and am currently working as a Piping Stress Engineer.
