It is not necessary that you go for BA or a B.Sc. Any degree holder is eligible for giving UPSC exam. But if you are a science student then you should go for B.Sc rather than going for a BA. B.Sc course is a graduate degree course in science; this can be done as a part-time or full-time course. This course forms the basis of science and comprises of the subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, zoology and mathematics. Some institutions that offer these courses are:
    Loyola College - Chennai
Department of Science (Christ University) - Bangalore
    Miranda House Delhi
    Lovely Professional University, Punjab
Madras Christian College (MCC) - Chenn

    Hi Soumya,
Let me tell you, UPSC demands you to know all the subjects from history to biology (both for preliminary and Mains). So I would advise do not choose your graduation stream only based on being UPSC aspirant. Study what you like. At the same time make sure you read news papers daily, especially The Hindu. The last three years paper trend has been based only on current affairs question. If you wish to start preparing from now, read The Hindu with due diligence and at the same time read all the NCERTs from standard 6 to 10, and geography, history and political science NCERTs of standard 11th and 12th.
    All the best.
