I am an average student. I have an interest to join in civil engg. Can I proceed?

You can join if you have interest. Civil engineering requires hard work to be successful and if you want to do something out of the box in your life then join civil and do research because it is a vast field.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering degree of four year duration. 10+2 pass students with Science subjects are eligible to take admission in this course. Admission in most of the colleges offering Civil Engineering is done though any of the entrance tests conducted at national and state level. Average tuition fee for this course ranges between INR 2 to INR. 4 lacs in most of the public institutes and INR. 3 to INR. 6 Lacs in private colleges. However, there are some government colleges which offer this course at very less tuition fee. B.Tech Civil Engineering: Eligibility *10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) is the basic requirement to take admission in B.Tech Civil Engineering programme. Percentage required in qualifying exam is 50% for most of the engineering institutes. However required percentage criteria depend on college. *Diploma holders in the mechanical or allied stream are also eligible to take admission, in the second year of the course. They must have done their Diploma after class 10th. In some cases candidates having Bachelor’s degree in Science are also eligible.
