Hi Nivedita,You Definitely can sit for IAS as it is an Examination which you can take up just after your graduation, but yes, as IAS is really a tough nut to crack how much time it would take to prepare for this Examination would depend on your own caliber and capacity to grasp, however, advisable would be that you join a Coaching Institute rather than self study because an Institute can help you prepare in a better manner than your self study,as there are faculty members and other people in the peer group to help you guide you and you can learn a lot more extra when you are in a group.o put up more queries. Being a Linguistic Masters Degree student and simultaneously pursuing another Masters Degree in a Language (English) consumes time to prepare and score better in both.
Though both are similar in nature, winning with flying colours fetch you confidence and enables you get better career options. (even interview levels in IAS (final))
So, better concentrate in PG (Dual Degree) and complete it, get down into training in IAS in a full fledged manner to strike it as it requires preparation.
