To be frank, SMU is not considered a reputed university by leading Universities in USA or UK. while selecting candidates for P.hd. candidates US and Uk universities will see your scholastic achievments, published papers, any presentation which you might have made etc. I would suggest you to strengthen yhese areas to strengthen your chances of making it to a P.hD.
