Hi, After completing MBBS you have 2 broad research option : First , you can get admission to a Medical Postgraduate Program (MD or MS) for 3 yrs and then enrol for Ph.D. Else, you can secure admission in one of the few Research Universities who admit meritorious Medical Graduates directly into their Research Programs leading to Ph.D along with fellowship. If you finish your PG in medical field and then apply for Ph.D abroad, your chances in getting admission in a good or top university will multiply.in that case you may get direct admission.but as an MBBS you definitely have to go through exam(will get details on websites about the exam fo

One more option for you i.e Medical graduates are eligible to participate in clinical research too.In India,Some leading hospitals involved in research provide facilities in clinical research with fellowships (in association with foreign universities). E.G :-Dr. B.R Ambedkar Centre for Biomedical Research offers M.Sc., Ph.D. combined degree in biomedical sciences.( Its a 4 Year Full Time Course.Minimum 55 per cent marks in MBBS is required to get admission) Hope all the above info will help you in future education All the best Regards.
