No, you  don't need to appear for the MHT CET exam if you are an NRI/OCI/PIO/dependent of a person working in a Gulf country. These categories of applicants are exempt from taking the MHT CET for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra. There's a separate selection process for NRI/OCI/PIO/CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf) candidates for BTech admissions in Maharashtra. This process typically involves:

      • Filling out a separate application form for NRI quota seats.
      • Appearing for counselling based on your class 12th (or equivalent) exam marks.

Candidates who are NRI/OCI/PIO or children of persons working in gulf countries can apply for BTech admission in Maharashtra. However, they do not need to appear in MHT CET exam. All such candidates need to fill the application form and appear directly for the counselling. Seats are reserved in every institute for OCI/PIO/NRI/Gulf Workers candidates. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of class 12/equivalent examinations.
