I am confused about B.Tech and B.Sc in biotechnology, am I eligible for these courses?

Yes, you can go for B.Tech or B.Sc which ever is your choice of studies. B.Tech is more technical as compare to B.Sc. B.Tech in Bio-Tech is still a niche course in India and fairly good opportunities for engineers in the field of research and development.

The major difference between any B.Sc. Degree and B.Tech degree is the fact that admission to B.Tech is a professional engineering degree and only approved engineering institutes are authorized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (India) (UGC) to give this degree; B.Sc. However, is an academic course which is available in almost every college of India. So B.Tech degree has a higher brand value and employability quotient. The course of B.Sc. Biotechnology is of 3 years while that of B.Tech Biotechnology extends over a span of 4 years. LPU provides both B.Sc. And B.Tech degree in Biotechnology The eligibility criteria for both are as follow B.Sc. Biotechnology - 60% in Chemistry Physics Maths/Biology + LPUNest B.Tech Biotechnology - 60% with English Physics maths/biology, Chemistry +LPUNest Biotechnology covers many different disciplines (eg. Genetics, biochemistry, molecular Biology etc. ). New technologies and products are developed every year within the areas of eg. Medicine (development of new medicines and therapies), agriculture (development of genetically modified plants, biofuels, biological treatment) or industrial biotechnology (production of chemicals, paper, textiles and food). No, NEET is not required for admission in B.Tech Biotechnology. As per my knowledge in LPU the eligibility criteria for B.Tech is 60% in 10+2 with English Physics maths/biology + LPU NEST exam. For B.Sc. In biotechnology candidate must have passed a minimum aggregate score of 60% in Class 12th studies with Physics Chemistry and Biology as the main subject to opt B.Sc. Biotechnology course. B.Tech biotechnology has a minimum eligibility score is 60% in +2 exams with Physics Chemistry and Maths as the main subject from a recognised university. B.Tech biotechnology is a UG course in Engineering. B.Sc. In biotechnology is a three-year UG course. B.Tech biotechnology is a four-year UG course. You should go for B.Tech in Biotechnology. The three-year B.Sc. course is conducted as any other Science subject and the students can go for the M.Sc course and take up research later. B.Tech course is the better option. Selection will be on the basis of the engineering entrance examination and marks obtained in plus two or equivalent examinations in Science subjects. Students who pass the qualifying examination with at least 50 percent marks in mathematics and as much in mathematics, Physics Chemistry and biotechnology, computer Science, or Biology took together are eligible to take the entrance examination.

B.Tech is a course that focuses on covering different aspects and fields related to engineering. B.Sc. In Biotechnology is a course that focuses on engineering to utilize it to create different outcomes and products related to welfare of humans. Yes, a person securing 70+ percentile in boards is eligible to enroll in these courses,. .

If you are passed in 10+2 with PCM then you are eligible for both, if you have passed with PCB then you are eligible for Biotech. Regards.
