PG Diploma in journalism from a reputed institute like IIMC, Symbiosis, Xavier's, etc. can get you a job in a TV news channel. Work either in the news desk or as a reporter for a while. Once you know people in the channel, you can express interest in anchoring. Practice anchoring and give a screen test.

Hi Kumar,
Here are five steps that could lead you to the fairly exciting career of a news anchor:
Get a Master's degree or PG Diploma in journalism from a reputed institute like IIMC, Symbiosis, Xavier's, etc. Get a job post that in a TV news channel. Work either in the news desk or as a reporter for a while. Say maybe three months. Once you know people in the channel, you can express interest in anchoring. Practice anchoring and give a screen test. If you pass the test - Yay! You are a news anchor now. If you don't, keep practising. And give the test again after a few months. P. S There are no standard steps to becoming a news anchor....more
