Hi Neha, As rightly said by arun dev that there is no specific qualification required for Journalism; only a diploma or degree would do. But what is more important is passion towards the field as this field requires a lot of creativity and hard work. Journalism as a career is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work and patience. To become a good journalist you need to have a good command over English, Hindi and your regional language. Dear naha, Graduates of any stream are eligible to opt for Journalism Courses. A Journalism degree or a diploma isn’t strictly necessary, although some organisations prefer it. There is no substitute for Practical Training. However, a Postgraduate degree or Diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication is necessary. some institutes providing degrees in journalism are given below,The Delhi University offers undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication.The Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers Postgraduate Diploma Program in Journalism in its campuses at New Delhi and Dhenkanal ( Orissa ).Postgraduate Diploma Program in Journalism is also offered by the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ).Postgraduate Diploma Program in development communication is offered at the AJ. Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre in Delhi.The Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication in Pune ( Maharashtra ) offers Postgraduate Diploma Program in Mass Communication and also in Communication Management.Diploma Courses in Journalism and Mass Communication are available at the Xavier Institute of Communication in Mumbai ( Maharashtra ).
