I am doing m.sc in chemistry (first year). What could be the job opportunities in doing m.sc without any specialised field ? What to do for Ph.d after that?

You yourself has described what you want to do. After doing M.Sc. You have following career opportunities
1. Lecturer (If you clear M.Sc. with more than 60% and clear NET/SET)
2. Research Stipend through JRF while doing your Ph.D
3. Career in clinical Research, Pharma, Biotech and healthcare orga

You can work as a chemist in any pharma company or can go for teaching in any college. if you opt for industrial chemistry then you can also have a career in industries too.
