i am doing my e&c engineering and am in the last year... i would like to know if going for an mtech makes any sense or an mba would be the wiser option... considering i'm inclined more towards the technical side

MTech is good for technical research, design and scientist jobs. MBA will be good for production, site management, workshops, technical marketing, service support related jobs.
